So I work at a hotel that does not accept cash. We accept debit or credit card only because we do not have a deposit on rooms, but require a card to hold for incidentals. This guy comes in with a reservation he made through our companies reservation center and seems pleasant enough, until he gets to payment and I ask him if he wants to pay with the card he put on file or if he wants to pay with another card. He replies with "Um, no, I was going to pay for cash". Overlooking the fact that there is a sign right in front of his face that says "WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH PAYMENT" (because let's be real, no one reads signs) I explain that our hotel doesn't accept cash payments, only debit or credit card. He said "Well, that's not what I was told when I called an booked it at the call center" and turns and just leaves the property. So I call the reservation center and get a supervisor on the phone. I tell her what happened and ask her if they have it on file at their call center to tell guests that we accept cash.
