Inside, expect the usual array of premium materials, climate control air-conditioning, and the latest in infotainment and connectivity. Hyundai recently previewed its next-generation Blue Link telematics and infotainment system, complete with Apple Siri voice-activation and Eyes Free as well as Google Maps navigation services. The 2014 Hyundai Genesis is expected to debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show next January, with sales commencing shortly after. Hyundai's upcoming new Genesis sedan has been spied testing again this week, following reports it will soon be joined by a smaller sibling. Reports elsewhere suggest the 'regular' new Genesis sedan will make its first appearance at January's Detroit Auto Show, focusing on the model's target market: the US. Speaking with auto site Edmunds, Hyundai Motors America's boss of product planning, Brandon Ramirez, reportedly confirmed the debut timing. Previewed by the HCD-14 concept at this year's Detroit show, these disguised prototypes confirm that the new model will feature a swooping roofline and a more planted look. 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spied Ahead Of Detroit Debut Also visible are new LED headlights that look to follow the HCD-14's edgy design, and taillights that feature three-dimensional glow detailing. These latest shots also offer another look at the new model's cabin, revealing an expansive centre stack and a large centre display. Unlike the current car, the new model is being developed for both right and left-hand drive - a move that will enable Hyundai to grow the Genesis brand internationally.

The upcoming 2014 Hyundai Genesis is shaping up to be one heck of a sports sedan, as this spy video of a prototype testing at the Nürburgring reveals. The new Genesis will be Hyundai's first model developed extensively at the automaker's recently built Nürburgring test center and the results of the center's proximity to the famous German race track is apparent. The prototype comes out of the gates hard and continues through the first corner with tires and engine screaming. It later shows incredible pace through the various carousels and even exhibits some sideways action at points. The sharper handling and dynamics is necessary to compete with German rivals such as the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E Class, but at the same it also helps differentiate the Genesis from the more luxurious Equus, which is tuned more for comfort. Underpinning the car is believed to be a revised version of the outgoing model's rear-wheel-drive platform, though with upgrades to support an all-wheel-drive system (an Audi allroad model is seen testing alongside it) and new eight-speed automatic transmission.

From the spy shoots we have, it looks that this new vehicle borrowed some lines and cues from the HCD-14 Genesis concept. As can be seen on the spy shoots the most noticeable changes comparing to the current model are made on the front and rear clips and the bars on the square grille. At the rear of the new 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan there will be new undulating contours, similar to the HCD-14 concept. According to the gloomy spy photo with hidden details, the inside look of this premium sedan it is modern, but with the traditional dial look with center stack and digital touch screens.

This is likely the South Korean domestic market version of the new Genesis, but as with the current model, we don't expect any notable changes on the North American edition of the car that has been confirmed for a world premiere at the next Detroit Motor Show in January 2014. This significant revision to the Genesis' rear-wheel-drive platform is also headed for the next-generation of the Genesis Coupe, which is expected to trail the sedan model's launch by up to two years. Engine details are still to be confirmed, but the existing 250kW 3. 8 litre V6 and 320kW 5. 0 litre V8 options are expected to continue. The new model is expected to benefit from Hyundai's recent emphasis on driving dynamics, with prototypes also spotted lapping the Nürburgring in Germany - ahead of the completion of Hyundai's new dedicated test centre. An official unveiling of the production Genesis sedan is expected in January, before going on sale in early 2014 - six years after the original Genesis' debut. Australia An Australian debut for the new Genesis is believed to be under consideration, with Hyundai Australia's hopes buoyed by news of a right-hand-drive option for the new model. If we do see it on our shores, it will be the Korean manufacturer's first large-premium-sedan to launch on the Australian market.
