Hi — I am currently in the process of applying to PMHNP programs. I have experience as an ER nurse (heavy psych experience in said ER) and I am in search of a program that is affordable (I mean, as affordable as a PMHNP program can be) and accepts nurses without psych-specific experience. I am looking for an online program, as I am bound to Austin, TX right now. But furthermore, I just want a program that students enjoy! Thanks for your help! But it is a decent program. It's a distance program. It seems like all of them have the typical ANCC BS courses about leadership, law/ethics, evidence based practice, etc. But the theory courses so far have been good. Instructors are responsive. I have heard okay things about Maryville University too. I was enrolled at Vanderbilt. The program there was quicker--a year of heavy coursework with trips to TN every semester, but around a year vs 3 years part time with fewer campus visits, but same cost.

Hey AB lovers!! I'd love to introduce myself to this beautiful sub. My name is Brittany, I believe I have combo-ish skin(oily forehead and dry everything else) and I'm going to college in Austin, Tx for nursing. Absolutely no AB stores of the like here, so I do most of my shopping online and I like to try out products over at the asianbeautyexchange subreddit. (Also a super place) I love video games and the best thing to do is slap on a sheet mask and sit in front of the computer. It helps me get the most out of each mask. I'm also an avid knitter and my boyfriend is trying to get me into computer programming which is an uphill battle but challenges keep me interested. Lastly, I'd love to thank my beautiful mother for getting me to take care of my skin. I still have my empty jar of an Anew repairing night cream in my bathroom that she left me with ❤️ I'm excited to meet everyone and check out your wishlists! I'm not trying to be picky with the whole, no nursing homes, LTACs or home health. I just know from past clinical experience that I find nursing homes incredibly depressing and the LTACs I've seen have just felt like nursing homes with sicker patients, and the idea of home health as a brand new nurse makes me very nervous. I really don't want to hate my first nursing job, because I'm afraid that after the normal trying experience of nursing school, and now even worse, this job hunt, if I have a bad experience with the job I do finally land, that I won't be able to find a reason to push myself to go back to nursing. So, TL;DR, do any of you have advice on where to look and how to find the less well advertised jobs that may be out there?
