The pandemic really served as the catalyst for us and basically was a signal that enough is enough — that we're fed up, " says Napsha. In late March, a petition signed by over 200 members of the college community and sponsored by Kenyon Young Democratic Socialists of America (KYDSA) to secure student pay for the rest of the school year proved successful. Though the administration did not acknowledge the petition, students were paid for their average weekly hours regardless of their ability to work remotely. A few months later, when the administration announced it would be suspending retirement benefits for Kenyon staff due to a $ 19. 3 million deficit in the school's operating budget, another petition, again initiated by KYDSA, was circulated to " stop the cuts. " With the support of students, UE, which represents the maintenance workers on campus, was able to come to an agreement with the administration that the majority of the missed retirement benefits be refunded to employees over a period of three years. "
Once bustling with stylish weddings, splashy corporate galas and charitable balls peppered with A-listers, New York City's glamorous party venues have been sitting dormant for months, unable to make money. Industry sources now say they don't see an out until 2021 at the earliest — raising questions about whether the city's famed party venues will even survive. "This is a dire situation, " said Arthur Backal, who runs the Mandarin Oriental's party spaces, among others. "Before the fall season we will hear about venues that are closing for good. " The Copacabana in Times Square was shuttered in May, and the events staff at the luxurious St. Regis Hotel in Midtown East was recently laid off, sources told The Post. The Plaza Hotel, where Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were married, has already moved some 90 parties booked for this year, said Mike Warren, director of events at the posh Central Park South location. Warren now expects twice as many bookings to be moved or canceled by the end of the year, representing tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue, he told The Post.

He made a few simple changes to his website to put this "secret weapon" technique to work for HIM... And overnight his marketing started sending him TWICE as many mortgage leads - from the exact same advertising budget. Larry Alexander, a mortgage originator from Omaha, Nebraska tried this approach too. And even with Larry's modest advertising budget - most of his clients come from referrals - he saw an IMMEDIATE jump in leads when he applied this technique. And better yet... These leads aren't tired and grumpy from being hounded by other mortgage officers. They answer Larry's calls eagerly. They appreciate Larry's honesty and commitment to top-drawer customer service. And they CLOSE. Most months, Larry's writing 15-20% more business than he did before with no other changes. Now more than 200 other mortgage originators have jumped on board. They're using this same technique to collect 30, 000+ qualified, high-converting leads each month... And with the ALL NEW Funnels 2. 0 software by leadPops, you can too.
There have been recent break-ins/thefts all around my work as well. While it is very well insured, the stress of having an accident or theft and that going on the carfax (thus reducing the value) or getting some stupid parking ticket or nail in the tire etc. is making me consider other options. I WFH 3 days/wk (could take transit the other 2 days) and don't do much requiring a car otherwise except for visiting a family member once per month - it's a 4 hr drive (no public transit or bus options available due to ferries). There is a flight I could take which would cost $220ish round trip. A car from the co-op would be roughly the same cost to "rent" for that time. I figure between transit to work, bike riding, and flights/carshare, it'll be about the same as the insurance and gas, maybe a bit less. The cost savings would be in not incurring any damage to the vehicle, stopping the mileage while it's still low, avoiding silly parking/traffic tickets, etc. It'd probably also save me money not to have an easily accessible car to load up at Costco, but I digress.

Your contract may provide for a minimum number of payments for your beneficiaries, for example. It may stipulate the remaining principal be passed on. Funds may be distributed as a lump sum or a stream of payments. With a joint and survivor annuity, your spouse can assume ownership of the annuity when you die under the same terms that you received your payments. Did You Know? In most states, annuities move over probate-free, meaning the assets go right to the beneficiary. By including a beneficiary in an annuity contract, you can protect your heirs from having to go through probate. Probate is the legal process of dividing a deceased person's estate and following a will. Going through probate involves costs and time. Designating a beneficiary, other than a spouse, is more complicated with a life annuity. But one option is to have a "life with period certain" annuity. This provides that payments will be made for a minimum period of time, such as 10 years, and then for the rest of your life.
